If you would like to book a wedding, please come along to the Sunday 9.30am Sung Eucharist in St. James’s on any Sunday and someone will be available afterwards to deal with your request. Similarly, if you need your Banns of Marriage reading here because you are being married in another church, please come along any Sunday morning at 9.30am.
If you are uncertain which Church of England parish you live in, this website will be helpful.
To make a firm booking, we ask that both parties are present to sign the application form and we required proof of identity, please. We also ask for a non-returnable £50 deposit to secure the booking. The fees for weddings change each year (and for the Church of England certain fees are set by the Church Commissioners); below is the table of fees for this year.
Saturday weddings are offered at 2pm, 3pm or 4pm by arrangement.

Marriage Preparation Course
The Parish offers a marriage preparation course for all those getting married and all couples marrying at St James’s are invited along to talk about building strong & lasting relationships. Whilst based on Christian principles, it is relevant & helpful for any engaged couple with or without a Christian faith or church background. If you know people who may be interested in coming along please mention it to them – it doesn’t matter if they are getting married in another church! This is a really important part of our pastoral outreach and support.
Renewal of Vows
Please come along to the Sunday 9.30am Sung Eucharist in St James's on any Sunday and someone will be available to book your Renewal of Vows.
