St. James’s Church House

St. James’s Church House (lower hall) is a comfortable and well-appointed space ideal for parties and other social occasions.  It is regularly booked for birthday and anniversary parties as well as baptism and funeral receptions.  With a good kitchen just off the hall it is possible to cater comfortably for 70 people (sitting down) or for up to 100 for a party where people mingle.  The hall has disabled access and toilet facilities.

By prior arrangement it is possible to access the kitchen-wares, please enquire at the time of booking.

Lucy Kemp Welch Gallery

This forms the upper hall of Church House and was built originally to house paintings of the late Lucy Kemp Welch, an internationally acclaimed artist who lived over the road from the Church.  This space is ideal for ‘boardroom’ style meetings, lectures and exhibitions, a digital projector and screen are available if required.  The Gallery houses an annual Art Exhibition during the Bushey Festival and last year housed a World War 1 Commemorative Exhibition which originally had been placed in the Bushey Academy.  Modest kitchen facilities are available to provide refreshments during meetings.
